Relation of Antioxidant Native Thiol Level with Inflammatory Markers and Disease Activity Index in Pediatric Ulcerative Colitis

چکیده
Objective: Pediatric ulcerative colitis (PUC) is an inflammatory disease. PUC pathogenesis associated with imbalance between reactive oxygen species and antioxidant activity which creates oxidative stress. Native thiol (NT) level capacity practical repeatable marker of inflammation antioxidan level. We aimed to analyse the relation NT markers pediatric index (PUCAI). Material Methods: Thirty-eight patients (SG) 33 control group (CG) participants were included in study. grouped as remission, mild, moderate severe according disease PUCAI. NT, hemoglobin (Hb), white blood cell (WBC), platelet (PLT), mean volume (MPV), albumin, C-reactive protein (CRP), erythrocyte sedimentation rate (ESR), interleukin 6 (IL-6) levels all measured at time they enrolled study recorded. Results: Mean age gender ratio groups similar (p>0.050). SG statistically high compared CG (p=0.001). Hb, PLT, MPV, CRP, ESR, IL-6 different than (p=0.045, p=0.026, p=0.001, p=0.001). was positively correlated albumin (p=0.001, for all). negatively PUCAI Conclusion: significantly lower CG. a good prognostic factor patients. may be repeatable, noninvasive candidate serum biomarker management.

Anti-cyclic citrullinated peptide antibodies in ulcerative colitis, and its relation with disease activity
Background : Ulcerative colitis an inflammatory bowel disease (IBD) and chronically idiopathic immune related that associates with extraintestinal manifestations such as arthritis. Despite of the highly specificity ofanti-cyclic citrullinated peptide (CCP) antibodies for rheumatoid arthritis, their role in IBD remains unclear . There are only a few studies on the prevalence of anti-CCP antibo...

Background: Chronic inflammation and oxidative stress are the two essential factors determining ulcerative colitis (UC) onset and severity status. In present study, we aimed to investigate short-term effects of ginger (Zingiber officinale) as a well-known antioxidant and anti-inflammatory agent on the quality of life, disease activity index and some of inflammatory and oxidative stress factors ...

AIM To investigate of pediatric ulcerative colitis activity index (PUCAI) in ulcerative colitis correlate with mucosal inflammation and endoscopic assessment of disease activity (Mayo endoscopic score). METHODS We reviewed charts from ulcerative colitis patients who had undergone both colonoscopy over 3 years. Clinical assessment of disease severity within 35 d (either before or after) the co...

BACKGROUND We evaluated the psychometric performance of the Pediatric Ulcerative Colitis Activity Index (PUCAI) in a real-life cohort from the Pediatric IBD Collaborative Research Group. METHODS Two consecutive visits of 215 children with ulcerative colitis (UC) were included (mean age 11.2 +/- 3.6 years; 112 (52%) males; 63 (29%) newly diagnosed and the others after disease duration of 24 +/...
